Cattle & Climate Change
Solutions
To prevent climate change we can do a variety of things. For example, one thing we can do is eat less beef and meat that comes from cows. This is so because if we all eat less beef then there will be less emissions produced. Eating less beef will cause climate change to slow down. To prove this for our project we didn't eat beef for a week. The chart that we created clearly proves that if you eat any other meat, this will cause the methane emissions to drastically drop. So, if everyone does a beef-less week, this will cause the methane to drop and help slow down climate change.
Methane Saved By Eating No Red Meat for a Week
Key
-
3 pounds of meat or steak, Each pound costs: about $7.25. 3lbs cost $21.75
-
3 pounds of beef: 44.4 pounds of methane
-
1 pound of beef - 14.8 pounds of methane
-
20.736 ounces of methane for chicken (1.296b lbs)
-
2.1375 pounds of methane for Turkey

Taking Action
We ask you to reduce the amount of red meat you eat. If we all eat steak once a week, the greenhouse gas emissions will go down. Replacing steak with fish or chicken can also help prevent any more damage to our atmosphere. If we don't do anything about climate change now, future generations will have to suffer and struggle with the problem.
